embroidery cushion

A wool embroidery cushion I done a few years ago.I did'nt know all the stitches but wanted to do it so badly.I took my time and voila the result.Very pleased with it.

Cathy, once again I posted my comment.Your package is out of this world.I never saw such beatiful items.I like looking at pictures of yout trip.The flower pot is also nice specially with the catus in it.

Lilac bag.

This is a bag I made last summer.I liked the pattern that Heather had and borrowed it from her.I used the color I like best(lilac)It is not a large bag.I had a pin "Paris"so I put it on as a bit of decoration.

New day,new beginning

The Dawn of a New Day.

A new day,
a new beginning,
the greyness
of the night
slowly dissipating.

Patch of blue sky showing,
trees motionless,
lake calm
not a ripple,
no sounds
to break the silence.

A magnificent white horse
standing tall
among the rocks,
viewing his territory,
embracing it all.

In the cool of the morning,
he makes his way
to the edge of the lake,
drinking the nectar of life,
refreshing water.

This milieu is ideal.
restful,pleasing
to the eyes,
to the ears.

You can hear
birds chirping,
and if you look closely,
squirrels running
to and fro.

Life is wakening,
the forest is coming alive
with all its creatures.

A beautiful day
it will be.

Three miniatures quilts

These are three miniatures quilts.I done them few years ago,when I was in the mood to do miniature work.

Painting of birch trees.

This is a painting that I done few years ago.I just loved to paint birch trees.It is a very calm painting.I saw the far away island and the trees and reflection,so I thought it would be nice to do a painting of this.

Penny from Heaven.

The Penny.

Walking to the store,one day
I happened to look down
When I spotted a dirty penny
So I bent down to retrieved it.

A penny,one might say
Is not worth the bother
To picked up.
I beg difference.

You see,the penny is from Heaven.
Yes,a penny from Heaven,
And everytime I see one
I shall pick it up.

And while I have this penny,
I keep it in my pocket
Until I found another one
To take its place( in my pocket)

Then it will go
With all the others,
I found in previous walks
In a special container.

When I see a penny
I always pick it up,
I know I will never be
Poor or without.

Because my Father from Heaven
Will always look after me.
No matter what anybody say
I strongly believed this.

My Godmother,Aunt Laurette,
Told me this,when I was young,
I believed her sincerely,
Because she always practiced
What she preached to me.

Bag from Kay

This bag was given to me by my friend Kay.She made it especially for me.She got the material from her sister and she knows I like fairies hence the bag.It was a real surprise when she gave it to me.It is large enough for me to put whatever I am working on or shopping for small things.

Fairies poem

Fairies
Spring will soon be here
And summer will follow
Warmer days ahead
Flowers will be out.

I'll go to my special place in the garden
Only I knows were it is,
And see if my little friends have arrived
For the summer until fall.

The fairies comes back to their abode
For a short period of time
And give me the pleasure of their presence.

I see a new comer with them
She is introduce to me as "Lavender"
She is dressed in lavender,my favorite color
And I wonder if the fairies knew that?

I welcome her and she buzzed around me,
Saying she is happy to be here
And make my acquitance
As the fairies told her about me and this place.

I tell her she is very welcome,
And hope she will like this special place in my garden
And will come back in the coming years.

Following their frolicking around the flowers
In their special place,hiding from other eyes,
As only myself and no one else
Can see and talk to them.

Hearing their laughter,and babillage
As they fly to and fro around the garden
And when night comes,it is the time
They enjoyed themselves more.

I watched them for awhile ,
While they are exploring every where
And showed them the mushrooms for their beds,
I said goodnight and will see them tomorrow.

White Horses

I had this needlepoint for years, not done. I brought it back from Montreal with other ones.When Heather got her horses,I decided to do it for her birthday one year.Instead to use wool I use floss,it turned out very well.I had never use floss for a needlepoint as wool had to be used ,when I learned needlepoint while in Scotland.Today it is different,you can do whatever you want.

Fairies and mushrooms

This picture was done by Heather about twenty years ago.She used to do a lot of drawings in black pencils.One day she decided to try a watercolor one ,and as she likes 'fairies'that was what she done.She did not follow up with watercolor,but continued to used black pencils.A few years ago,she decided to work with color pencils and she still does.When I was talking to her today I mention that I was going to put that painting of hers on my blog,and she said she might try watercolor again,as it does take a lot of time with color pencils. I am sorry the picture is crooked and I will try to take another one.I am learning to use a digital camera,and I guess I mut have moved somehow.

Hardanger piece.

Theresa sent me this hardanger for my birthday.When I was there last May she had started to work on it.I thought it might be for one of the girl.It was a very nice surprise for me.While there Theresa thought me how to work hardanger.I guess it did not take me too long to learn.She made me do all the stitches.The one on top is the one I started while there and I finished when I got back.I also done the blue square one.I done a couple small one to hang up on door handle.
